2. Rurouni Kenshin Episode 6 Recap
The episode began with Sanosuke, who was roaming lost in the forest on the way to Kyoto, he found the place to be somewhat familiar but couldn’t wrap his head about it. When he sat himself down to take a bite off the last bun that he had, a huge sound from afar startled him, causing the bun to fall on the ground.
When he went to the location to find out what happened, he saw a man dressed like a Buddhist monk striking the ground and breaking it. Sanosuke who was quite impressed watching all this perceived his technique to be Hо̄riki, a skill used by Monks who borrow the power of Buddha. When Sanosuke asked the man about this, he replied saying Hо̄riki is just a rumor that was spread to make people believe in the god, and he has never seen it before.
On hearing this, Sanosuke asked the man if he would teach him the technique, since it wasn’t a secret technique that the monks used. He was fine with it, but he told Sanosuke that he had a month to master it, and his punishment for not mastering it would be death, and just like what happened in Naruto, Sanosuke declared that he’d have it mastered within a week.
Well, the path ahead of his wasn’t easy, though, because as much as he tried, he could only shatter the rock but couldn’t turn it into dust like the man could. He didn’t give up, though, despite the man offering to spare him if he stepped down. He kept his efforts up until the sixth day, to the point that his hand was bruised and in tatters. That night, he saw an illusion of Captain Sagara, who asked him to give up and admit defeat, as he didn’t want Sanosuke to give his life up for a technique.
Sanosuke refused, saying that he hated himself for over 10 years because of how much his weaknesses cost him. If he could change things by being stronger, he’s happy to even risk his life. The next day, the monk saw Sanosuke lying on the ground and thought he had died of exhaustion, but he woke up and grandly pulverized a rock with his fist, shocking the monk. Sanosuke admitted that this was the result of him putting his life on the line.
After this, he parted ways with the man, thanking him for what he’d done for him. Before they parted ways, the monk revealed that his name was Yuukyuuzan Anji. Shortly after Sanosuke left, Soujirou showed up and told Anji that Shishio had ordered all the Juppon Gatana to assemble at Kyoto and asked him to head over there.
3. What Will Happen In Episode7?
Since Soujirou is having all the Juppon Gatana assemble at Kyoto for a huge battle, we can expect the next episode to be putting the story in place to orchestrate this battle that Shisho has planned for Himura.
We can also expect to see a few more of the Juppon Gatana, if not all of them, and we’ll also be seeing more of Himura and Misao in the next episode. They would likely arrive in Kyoto by the next episode, where the grand showdown is planned to take place.
